Elder Joseph Franklin Burcham, age 97, of Jemison, passed away on April 10, 2014. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on April 13 at Bolton Funeral Home with Elder John Wingard officiating. Burial is to follow in Shelby Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on April 13 at  Bolton Funeral Home, Columbiana. He was an elder since 1956. He was an elder at Gardendale Primitive Baptist for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gertrude Roberts Burcham; daughters, Sylvia Douglass and Colleen Burcham; sons, Gil Burcham (Sherry) and Paul Burcham (Patricia); step-daughter, Teresa Ellison; step-sons, Charles McGiboney and Bobby Roberts; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of  nieces, nephews, other family and many, many friends. Mr. Burcham  is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jennie Burcham; step-son, Kincaid Roberts; and a step-daughter, Sherry Rice.
