COLUMBIANA — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a safety checkpoint between 2 and 3:30 a.m. April 12 at the intersection of Alabama 119 and Shelby County 22 and between 2 and 3:30 a.m. April 13 on Cahaba Beach Road north of U.S. 280, according to a news release.

Uniformed deputies will conduct the checkpoints in marked sheriff’s vehicles visible to any motorist. Anyone traveling in these areas during this time is urged to drive with caution and be aware of law enforcement’s presence.
