MONTEVALLO—The Montevallo Arts Council is searching for artists for the 2014 Montevallo Arts Festival.
The eighth annual Montevallo Arts Festival will take place April 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and booth rentals range from $35 for students, $40 for crafts and $50 for fine art.
The festival, which changed names this year from the Montevallo Art Show, will feature a wide variety of art, from fine art to crafts and student art.
Though the board is still in the process of securing vendors, “Riverboat John” Ferguson, a folk singer and storyteller, will be the musical talent. There will also be food vendors and activities for children.
So far, approximately 25 artists have signed up for the event, and almost 70 artists are expected to sign up before the March 31 application deadline, Suzanne Hurst, president of the Montevallo Arts Council said.
“Artists are perennially late signing up,” Hurst explained.
