MONTEVALLO—Playwright Qui Nguyen will read from his play “Man of Steel” at the University of Montevallo Thursday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.

The highly anticipated lecture was originally slated for Feb. 11, but was rescheduled due to a winter weather warning.

Nguyen’s work has been lauded as “wildly inventive,” “infectious fun” and “tour de force theatre” by The New York Times, Variety and Time Out New York. The Chicago Tribune praised Nguyen as a “refreshing, break-the-rules writer” and Time Out Chicago names his play “She Kills Monsters” as one of the 10 best plays of 2013.

Nguyen is co-founder of the OBIE award-winning Vampire Cowboys Theatre Company of New York City.

The lecture, hosted by the University of Montevallo as part of the Dancy Lecture Series, will be followed by a reception and book signing.
