CHELSEA—A 29-year-old man is being held in the Shelby County Jail after being arrested by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Feb. 5, 2014, and charged with first-degree sexual abuse.
John Russell Hahn, who resides on the 2000 block of Springfield Drive in Chelsea, is currently in jail on bonds totaling $15,000.
Charging documents filed by the court accuse Hahn of allegedly subjecting his victim to “sexual contact by forcible compulsion.”
Hahn was out on bond after being arrested Oct. 25, 2013, for third-degree domestic violence and Dec. 13, 2013, for “willfully violating a protection order, restraining order or injunctive order to annoy or otherwise communication with the victim,” according to court documents.
According to Alabama law, first-degree sexual abuse is a Class C felony. If convicted, Hahn could face up to ten years in prison.
