CHELSEA — Chelsea Fire & Rescue is asking the public to make an effort to move their abandoned vehicles, especially from roads in subdivisions.

“We recently responded to a subdivision on an emergency medical call. Our rescue unit could not get into the subdivision because of cars lining both sides of the road,” reads a Jan. 30 post to Chelsea Fire & Rescue’s Facebook page. “If a fire were to occur, our fire engine could not make it to the scene.

“We understand why it happened, but please encourage those you know to move them as soon as they can,” the post continues. “Their presence delays (or prohibits) us getting to you in an emergency.”
