HOOVER — Hoover Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at an Iron Bowl party Nov. 30.

Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis told AL.com that a woman in her 30s was shot and pronounced dead at the scene at about 7 p.m. at the Summerchase at Riverchase apartment complex. The shooting occurred outside the 1600 building at the apartments located at 100 Summerchase Drive.

Another woman was taken into custody but has not been charged, Derzis said. The victim and suspect’s identities have not been disclosed.

Derzis said it’s not yet clear if the shooting is tied to the Alabama-Auburn rivalry game.
