FROM STAFF REPORTS
COLUMBIANA – The Columbiana Public Library is joining public libraries across the state in participating in “Snapshot Day: One Day in the Life of Alabama Public Libraries” on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
The event will include storytime at 9:30 a.m., knitting from 10 a.m.-noon and book group at 6 p.m. The library will collect pictures, statistics and patrons’ comments throughout the day. The purpose of the program is to show how important public libraries and library systems are to the state of Alabama, according to a press release from the library.
On Sept. 25, the library will compile statistics, customer comments, photographs and other data chronicling a typical library day. The results will be added to those of public libraries across Alabama to show how libraries provide invaluable services to Alabama citizens.
“Snapshot Day: One Day in the Life of Alabama Public Libraries” is a project of the Alabama Public Library Service.
