The Vincent Yellow Jackets played two games for the price of one Aug. 23. VHS played a half against Munford and a half against Childersburg in a jamboree game.

The Jackets took on each team for a half, and opened with Munford. Vincent took down the Lions, 19-0, following to long pass plays to Rodney Groce and Jace Green, respectively. Ethan Moran tacked on the final score with a three yard touchdown-run.

The Yellow Jackets continued their run in the second half, as they defeated Childersburg, 12-0. Green was responsible for all the points, as he hauled in two touchdown passes to put the Tigers away.

Groce rushed for 85 yards in limited action.

“We played pretty well,” Head Coach Jason Hill wrote in an email. “We’re still making too many mistakes.”

Vincent will open up their season Aug. 30 at home against West Blocton.
