Special pets in need of forever homes

These two pets, being cared for by the Shelby Humane Society, are very special and need special homes.
Meet Maggie, a 1-year-old female Australian Shepard. She is a very special girl and is the result of irresponsible breeding. When a breeder breeds two merle-colored dogs together, about 25 percent of the offspring will be “double merles.” Sadly, Maggie fell into that 25 percent, causing her to be deaf and partially blind. But this sweet girl still needs her forever home, and would make a great companion.
Meet Shiloh, a 3-year-old male domestic short hair mix. This big boy last weighed in at 13 pounds. He has a big heart and a gentle soul. He loves to cuddle, and will sleep in your lap all day long if you’d let him. Take this gentle giant home today and he’ll be the greatest companion for any family.
