This is Weaver’s fourth appointment to the SHCC. She was appointed to two terms by former Gov. Bob Riley and one previous term by Bentley. Her reappointment, which began on April 9, will expire in 2016.

Weaver currently serves as chairwoman of SHCC’s Home Health Committee and as vice chairwoman of The Study Committee on Freestanding Emergency Departments.

Weaver was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 2010, and currently represents parts of Bibb and Shelby counties in House District 49. Weaver has worked in health care administration for almost 20 years, and is currently the director of business development at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, where she has worked for the past 10 years.

In Weaver’s reappointment letter, Bentley wrote, “You are a servant of the people of Alabama, and I trust that you will fulfill your duties and set a standard for others to follow. I appreciate your willingness to serve in this position, and I am confident that your time will be well spent in a manner to improve the state of Alabama.”
