Any championship coach will tell you winning one title is hard, and repeating with another title is even harder.
The Hoover Lady Buccaneers were able to do just that when they defended their 2011-2012 state title with a 66-55 victory over Blount in the 2013 Class 6A girls’ championship game March 2 at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex.
“It means so much to these seniors,” said Hoover head coach Tiffany Frederick. “You have a target on your back to win back-to-back state titles. For them to pull it out and get here – that’s amazing.”
