The Oak Mountain Eagles softball team claimed the No. 2 seed in the Class 6A, Area 8 tournament with an 8-5 victory over Spain Park April 25.

Katherine Kimble pitched four innings and allowed three runs on four hits in the win for Oak Mountain. Caroline Seitz led the Eagles with a 2-for-3 effort with a home run and two RBIs.

Julie Knight pitched four and two-thirds innings and allowed three earned runs on six hit in the loss for Spain Park. Mary Kathryn Bonamy led the Lady Jags with a 2-for3 effort with a home run and two RBIs.
