INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – University of Montevallo junior Conner Godsey became the first ever men’s golf student-athlete to be selected to participate as an individual in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region tournament when the field was released April 26.
Godsey is one of four individuals who will participate in the Southeast Region tournament in addition to the 10 teams participating in the tournament, which will take place May 5-8 at the Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla.
“This is a great accomplishment for Conner, and for our program to be recognized,” said Montevallo men’s golf coach Justin Pratt. “Our goal was to be there as a team, but having an individual that has played well and worked hard for it, is rewarding as well. Conner will play well and I’m really proud of him because he has earned it.”
Godsey will participate in a practice round at the region tournament Sunday, May 5. First round play will begin Monday, May 6 at 6:30 a.m. CST.
