The Birmingham Vulcans Rugby Football Club has opened registration for players interested in playing rugby in the Central Alabama Youth Rugby League.

The league includes non-contact rugby for ages 7-11, contact rugby for ages 11-14 and high school contact rugby for ages 14-19.

Students interested in contact rugby can attend a free clinic and informational meeting May 4 at 1 p.m.

The high school rugby division will be divided into central, east, north and south regions. Shelby County players will play in the south region and practices will be held at Pelham High School.
