Montevallo men’s golf tied for eighth after Buccaneer Invitational first round

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – The University of Montevallo men’s golf team is currently tied for eighth in team standings following the opening round of the Buccaneer Invitational tournament April 1 at Normandy Shores Golf Club.
The Falcons, who carded a team score of 12-over par 296 in the first round, are tied with St. Thomas University (Fla.) in the tournament hosted by Barry University, which leads the tournament with an even par 284.
Freshman Dalton Skinner led the Falcons with an even par 71 in the opening round, which places him in a tie for ninth overall in individual standings.
Fellow freshman Juan Noce is currently tied for 30th in individual standings after shooting a 3-over par 74 in the first round. Senior Andrew Lowry posted a 4-over par 75 in the first round, which places him in a tie for 40thoverall in individual standings.
Freshman Jordan Campbell shot a 5-over par 76 in the opening round, which places him in a tie for 46th in individual standings.
Junior Conner Godsey rounded out the group of Montevallo golfers with a 11-over par 82, which places him in a tie for 81st overall in individual standings.
The Falcons return to action Tuesday, April 2 in the final two rounds of the tournament. The second round of the tournament was suspended due to darkness April 1.
