The Spain Park Jaguars opened play at a four-team event at Thompson High School with a 9-3 victory over Elmore County March 16.

The Jaguars took a 3-2 lead after three innings of play, and then added four runs in the fourth to pull away for the win.

Tristan Lamb pitched seven innings for Spain Park in the win allowing one earned run on five hits with five strikeouts.

Josh Close led the Jaguars batting 3-for-3 with a RBI and two runs scored. Jon Sumner added a home run while batting 1-for-2 with a RBI, two walks, and two runs scored.
