Shamfest 2013 kicks off March 16

MT LAUREL – The Red Shamrock’s Shamfest 2013 will kick off March 16 for a two-day event to raise money the Hope for Gabe Foundation.
Last year’s Shamfest attracted more than 4,000 visitors to downtown Mt Laurel for the “City Stages” type event, The Red Shamrock owner Scott Griffin wrote in a press release.
The event will features at least 10 bands, including Deputy 5, Naked Eskimos, M-80s, The Hunter Lawley Band, The New Grass Troubadours and Rolling in the Hay.
Young attendees will have mechanical rides, inflatables and face painting to enjoy. Food vendors, including Kona Ice, cotton candy and Papa Johns pizza, will also be on hand.
Shamfest will be March 16 starting at 8 a.m. and March 17 from noon-8 p.m.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Hope for Gabe Foundation, which raises funds to advance research for Duchenne, a genetic disorder primarily affecting voluntary muscles, the release stated.
