Hornets sting Shelby County, 18-1

The Chelsea Hornets defeated rival Shelby County 18-1 in five innings March 5.
Led by Senior Davis Shoemaker, the Hornets offense continued to hit on all cylinders. Chelsea pounded out seven runs in the first inning, nine runs in the second and added two more in the third.
Shoemaker led Chelsea at the plate going 3-for-4 with a home run and a triple with four RBIs and three runs scored. Hunter Kennedy went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Jacob Green was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Tripp Hobbs went 2-for-3 with two walks and a RBI. Keelan Gregg was 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Hunter Howard was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. James Calhoun, Casey Ballenger and Patrick Castillo each had a hit in the win.
Senior Keelan Gregg picked up his second win of the year for the Hornets throwing a complete game of five innings and giving up a run on two hits with two walks and seven strikeouts.
