Hoover City Schools announces Finley Award winners

HOOVER — A Spain Park High School senior was recognized for his exceptional character when he was announced as a Hoover City Schools Finley Award winner Feb. 25.

Tom Paduch was honored with the award, which is named after longtime coach and educator Bob Finley, who worked at W.A. Berry High School.

“Finley led by example and was known for his calm demeanor, integrity and strong faith,” according to a Hoover City Schools press release.

The award honorees were chosen by the Finley Committee for Character Education.

Other winners chosen included senior Hunter Gibson of Hoover High School and Jason Watson, coach and teacher from R.F. Bumpus Middle School.

All the honorees will be celebrated March 21 at the Finley Awards Banquet, to be held at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center at 6 p.m.
