The Shelby County Wildcats got back on track after falling in the area tournament championship game when they defeated Valley 66-56 on the road Feb. 15 in a Class 5A sub-regional game.

The Wildcats (27-6) were balanced in scoring with 17 points in three of the four quarters while four players scored in the double figures.

Tyler Madison led Shelby County with 21 points while Brandon McKinney added 18 points. Emmanuel Hall scored 11 points and Cedric Youngblood finished with 10 points.

The Wildcats move on the Class 5A Central Region semifinals where they will take on Sumter Central Feb. 19 at 1:30 p.m. at Alabama State University in Montgomery.
