Undercover officers arrest three in copper theft

CALERA – Calera Police officers went undercover Feb. 5 in an attempt to apprehend burglary suspects stealing copper wiring from Vulcan Materials.

Police Chief Sean Lemley confirmed there had been previous incidents at Vulcan Materials, but could not divulge any details.

“During the undercover operation, our officers observed the suspects enter onto Vulcan Material’s property and steal a large amount of copper wiring,” Lemley wrote in an email. “When the suspects left the property, our officers took the suspects into custody.”

The three suspects currently are being held in the Shelby County Jail.

Gober

Montevallo resident Shannon C. Gober, 38, was charged with five counts of burglary first degree, five counts of theft of property first degree and five counts of criminal mischief first degree. Gober’s bond is set at $550,000.

R. Cicero

Roger Earl Cicero, 56, of Quinton was charged with five counts of burglary first degree, five counts of theft of property first degree, five counts of criminal mischief first degree and one count of resisting arrest. His bond is set at $560,000.

B. Cicero

Brandy Nicole Cicero, 29, from Montevallo was charged with five counts of burglary first degree, five counts of theft of property first degree and five counts of criminal mischief first degree. Brandy Cicero’s bond is set at $550,000.
