Isabella edges Indian Springs, 39-36

NORTH SHELBY – The Indian Springs girls’ basketball team battled back to tie the game twice late in the fourth quarter, but was unable to take the lead to fall to Isabella 39-36 Jan. 22.
After leading the entire first quarter, Indian Springs saw Isabella rally from a 7-point deficit with a 12-1 run to take a 19-15 lead at the half.
Isabella led as much as seven early in the third quarter, but Temiola Ransome-Kuti led Indian Springs with nine of its 10 points to cut the score to 29-25.
Indian Springs went on a 9-0 run midway through the fourth to take a 34-32 lead with more than three minutes remaining in the game. Isabella’s K. Mims sparked a 7-1 run to give Isabella the 39-36 win.
Ransome-Kuti led all scorers with 24 points for Indian Springs.
