Indian Springs runs away for victory

NORTH SHELBY – The Indian Springs boys’ basketball team pulled away in the third quarter for a 60-43 victory over Isabella Jan. 24 at home.
Isabella scored the first points of the game, but Indian Springs answered by scoring 10 unanswered points to go on to take a 17-11 lead after the first quarter of play.
Isabella cut the lead to five twice late in the second quarter before Stephen Himic hit a three at the buzzer for a 32-24 Indian Springs’ lead at the half.
Indian Springs opened the second half on a 6-2 run and later closed the third on a 7-1 run to take a 52-34 advantage into the fourth quarter.
Indian Springs went 4-for-6 from the free throw line in the final quarter to seal the 60-43 win.
Kenechi Ijemere led Indian Springs with 14 points. Jeff Simonetti added 12 points.
