The Briarwood Christian Lady Lions took its first lead of the second half in the last minute of the game to claim a 42-41 area victory over Homewood Jan. 18.

Briarwood’s Abby Parks hit a driving layup with under a minute to go to give the Lady Lions the lead. Homewood had two chances to take the lead, but Briarwood picked up big stops each time to seal the win.

Hannah Wainwright led Briarwood with 15 points and seven rebounds. Samantha Swards added seven points and 10 boards.
