UPDATED: Shelby County 11 reopened near Chelsea High School

CHELSEA – Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies reopened a portion of Shelby County 11 in Chelsea that was closed due to a multi-car accident.
At 7:32 a.m., Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a the accident on Shelby County 11 at the intersection of Shelby County 377, also known as Mountain Crest Road, according to a release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office at 8:08 a.m.
This accident was located on Shelby County 11 between U.S. 280 and Chelsea High School. The roadway was closed in both directions while deputies assisted Alabama State Troopers with the accident investigation, according to the release.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously on all roadways throughout Shelby County during this period of inclement weather.
