Mountain views in Greystone

When Susan and Steve Shirley decided to build a French-style house on Greystone Crest more than 15 years ago, the two thought it was just a temporary home.
“We intended to just live here a couple of years because it’s a big house for two people, but we loved it so much, we’ve been here almost 15 years,” Susan said, laughing.
At 7,300 square feet of living space, the home is indeed large, but it’s on a lot to match. The four acres assures their privacy, as it includes a large swath of land down the mountainside behind their house. On this chilly November day, the mountains have burst into a tableau of reds, yellows and browns as the leaves change color.
“We feel like we live in North Carolina or somewhere, but we’re just down the road from 280,” Susan said. “That’s one of the beautiful things about this neighborhood. It’s so quiet.”
