Car thieves may have stolen guns, iPod

Two males suspected of stealing multiple vehicles in the Pelham, Hoover and North Shelby may have broken into at least nine vehicles between the evening of Dec. 17 and the morning of Dec. 18.
Early in the morning of Dec. 18, the two suspects led police on a vehicular chase and then on a manhunt, which ultimately proved unsuccessful. The suspects, two black males, are still at large.
According to a Shelby County Sheriff’s Office press release, deputies investigated nine vehicular breaking and entering complaints, as well as a report of a stolen truck, between the evening of Dec. 17 and the morning of Dec. 18.
Four breaking and entering complaints, as well as the stolen truck complaint, were from the 1100 block of Eagle Park Road. The other five complaints were from the 200 block of Brook Green Lane, the 1500 block of Southern Drive, the 200 block of Highland View Drive, the 300 block of Brook Green Lane and the 1600 block of Indian Springs Lane.
Also, the car the suspects used during the vehicular chase, a white Acura, was discovered to be a stolen car from Pelham.
According to the press release, complaints are still coming in as residents discover additional thefts. So far, three handguns, one hunting rifle and one iPod have been reported stolen.
The stolen truck was found unoccupied by Birmingham police officers on Seventh Avenue in Wylam.
The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
