FROM STAFF REPORTS
CHELSEA – With a little help from Chelsea Fire and Rescue, Santa Claus will visit Chelsea neighborhoods Dec. 22.
The fire department has designated “Santa stops” throughout the city.
“In order to keep on the schedule, we cannot make additional stops, but Santa will waive and recognize everyone he can while driving around our neighborhoods. Please plan to be at the designated ‘Santa stop’ a few minutes early if you want to take a picture with the crew,” Fire Chief Wayne Shirley wrote in an email.
Since Chelsea Fire is helping Santa with his rounds, he has agreed to help the department if an emergency occurs. So if Chelsea Fire does get an emergency that affects Santa’s route, the firefighters will handle the emergency, then return to the scheduled stops as soon as possible, Shirley wrote.
If Santa is running late, or if bad weather causes route problems, please feel free to call the fire station at 678-6060 to check for any modifications to the plan. The department will also try to post any modifications or schedule delays on the Chelsea Fire Facebook page.
