Every holiday season, Hoover artist Sara Perry does her best to spread cheer to 100 of her closest friends by sharing the beauty of an original piece of art she’s painted.
She works throughout the year to come up with the subject of the painting — past favorites have included a simple wreath, decked out with berries and a bright red bow, or a watercolor of Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem — and then, once the painting is complete, she has local business Fine Paperwork create 100 Christmas cards using her original artwork.
Lori Salter-Schommer, who has known Perry all her life, said she looks forward to receiving Perry’s Christmas card every year.
“I love getting them,” Salter-Schommer said. “They are so unique and beautiful.”
