COLUMBIANA — One man is dead and another hospitalized after a stabbing at Town Creek Apartments in Columbiana early Saturday morning.

Columbiana Mayor Dr. Stancil Handley said the two men, neither from Columbiana, were involved in an altercation.

“That resulted in one of them being a fatality. The other was taken to UAB hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive,” Handley said.

Handley said he did not know the identities of either man involved in the incident. No arrests have been made.

No one from the Columbiana Police Department was available to provide other information.

Handley did say one of the men was from Alabaster and the other from Harpersville.
