Montevallo ranked ninth in NSCAA region poll

KANSAS CITY, Kansas – The University of Montevallo women’s soccer team is ranked No. 9 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division II Southeast Region poll, which was released Sept. 25.

The Falcons dropped two spots in the poll following a 5-0 loss on the road Sept. 21 at nationally-ranked Peach Belt Conference foe Armstrong Atlantic State University and a 3-1 setback at home against Valdosta State University in a non-conference match Sept. 23.

Montevallo sophomore Nicole Johnston is currently sitting among the leading goal scorers in the Peach Belt Conference with four goals this season.

Montevallo junior goalkeeper Kaitlin Thomas is fourth among Peach Belt Conference goalkeepers with 38 saves this season.

The Falcons (4-3-1 overall, 1-2 in Peach Belt Conference) return to action Sept. 26 with a match on the road at Peach Belt Conference foe Clayton State University.
