If you’re thinking about roof replacement, fall is an excellent time. Jim Stripling, Property Enhancement Services owner, and his staff have been installing roofs and making home improvements since 2005.

PES installs metal and shingle roofs, gutters, roof boots, siding, windows and can take care of interior damage such as sheetrock and painting. They are experts at installing elastomeric coatings for commercial roof and wall applications and, when roof replacement is required, cool roof single-ply systems. These systems prevent premature degradation, ensure waterproofing and aid energy efficiency.

PES helps every step of the way with insurance claims. An inspector comes out free of charge to assess the damage. If the damage is a result of peril, he meets with your insurance adjuster to point out the damage to get you approved for a new roof. The office staff helps with paperwork, if any.

Executive Assistant Sonja Kok was a customer before becoming an employee. “I had a roof leak, and the insurance company wanted to know where it was, how many shingles were damaged and how steep my roof was,” Kok said. “The roof goes to a point, I don’t know.”

PES sales representative Christina Swim helped Kok answer their questions. Homeowners have two years to file a claim, but Swim cautions waiting. “If you patch a roof, insurance companies sometimes say you’ve neglected it or it’s old,” she said. “It’s best to go ahead and file your claim.”

It’s not necessary to be home when the work is performed. PES is bonded, fully insured and holds a State of Alabama license, as well as 23 city licenses throughout central Alabama. The company is a member of the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and Civitan.

Homeowners have the right to choose who performs the work for insurance claims. PES offers financing for repairs not covered by insurance. Customers who participate in PES neighborhood advertising program receive credit toward the purchase of a new roof and PES pays a $100 fee for referrals.
