Calera defeats Corner, 33-22

WARRIOR-Calera High School went on the road and defeated Corner High School 33-22. on Sept 21.
Second-year Calera coach Wiley McKeller was pleased with how his team was able to run the ball. The Eagles as a team rushed for 277 yards on 38 carries.
“Anytime you can run the ball and control the pace of the game, it is a good thing,”McKellar said.
Calera was led by senior running back Sam Adams who had 173 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries while senior quarterback Zack Reneau was 12-of-16 passing for 170 yards and two touchdowns. Reneau also ran for 80 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown. Junior receiver Jordan Bishop had a big night receiving snagging five receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown.
The 3-1 Eagles face 0-4 Shelby County High School at home next week.
