The 15th Annual CASA Roast is scheduled for Tuesday, November 13th at the Wynfrey Hotel. This year’s event will honor past honorees including Rep. Mike Hill, Sen. Cam Ward, Sen. Jabo Waggoner, Sheriff Chris Curry, Gene Hallman, Helena Mayor Sonny Penhale, former Pelham Mayor Bobby Hayes and Jefferson County Manager Tony Petelos.
Since 1997, the CASA Roast has been a huge success labeled as the most fun event in the Birmingham area.
Past honorees are excited about returning to the stage. Videos from past roasts will be shown which will bring back memories of times gone by — some they wish had never been recorded. There will be new material by new roasters as well.
Known as the Godfather of Pelham, Bobby Hayes has left city government. Who knows what he might say now that he is no longer in elective office?
After serving 235 years in the Alabama Senate, Jabo Waggoner has finally got some power as the Senate majority leader. We’ll see who will be in his firing range.
Then there is Mike Hill, who was recently named to a Top 40 Most Power People list. That alone could keep the whole night going strong.
Tony Petelos trying to straighten out Jefferson County’s financial woes? That’s an entire event in itself.
The event will begin at the Wynfrey Hotel with a reception and silent auction starting at 6 p.m. with the dinner and roast following at 6:30 p.m. For more information call 980-4466.
