The Shelby County High School Wildcats fell to Chilton County High School 39-0 during a Sept. 14 game in Chilton County.
CCHS coach Donnie Hand said he was proud his team was able to play hard Friday night for a 39-0 win over Shelby County, after playing hard in a 17-14 loss at Homewood last week.
“This shows them what they can do if they play for four quarters,” Hand said.
The win evens Chilton’s region record to 1-1 and improves its overall record to 2-1.
The Tigers built a 25-0 lead at halftime and substituted freely in the second half.
“It makes it a lot of fun,” Hand said of being able to give playing time to players who might not see a lot of it.
CCHS ran the football effectively even though Shelby lined up often in its goal line set.
Michael Seaton ran for three touchdowns, and Richard Hilliard had another, a 38-yard jaunt that included running over a SCHS defender.
Seaton also caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Chance Britnell, who also found Austin Rossi for two scores.
The Wildcats host region foe Briarwood Christian on Sept. 21.
