The Chelsea High School volleyball team defeated Pelham 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21 in an Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 8 match Aug. 30.

Chelsea Tyson led the Hornets (4-3 overall, 2-0 in AHSAA Class 6A, Area 8) with nine kills in the victory.

Destinee Benton added four kills and five blocks. Holly Marbut contributed four kills and 21 digs in the win.

Emma Cotney posted a career-high 41 digs. Courtney Campbell chipped in five service aces and seven assists.
