GREYSTONE — Shelby County citizens looking to lose weight can now contribute to a worthy cause by dropping pounds.
Fitness Together Greystone is launching a “Pounds for Purpose” fundraising program, which will benefit Big Oak Ranch, a Christian home for needy children.
For every pound lost by participants from Aug. 14-Sept. 14, Fitness Together will donate $1 to Big Oak Ranch.
“We’re not only wanting to get people active and headed towards a healthier lifestyle, but it’s also going towards Big Oak Ranch,” owner Rob Hackett said. “It helps give back to the community.”
Anyone can participate in the program, even non-Fitness Together members.
“You don’t have to be a Fitness Together member. You can work out at another gym or walk around your house,” Hackett said.
Anyone wishing to participate should call Hackett at 981-2454 to sign up, then go to Fitness Together Aug. 13 to weigh in. Participants should then return by Sept. 14 to do a final weigh-in. The person who loses the most weight in that month will receive an iPad.
However, the iPad will only be awarded if more than 50 people participate in the program. Hackett said he hopes to see more than 100 participate.
Fitness Together Greystone is located at 5361 U.S. 280, Suite 102A. For more information, call 981-2454 or visit Fitnesstogether.com/greystone.
