Falcons hire new assistant athletic trainer

The University of Montevallo announced the hiring of Lauren Korte as the new assistant athletic trainer July 20. Korte spent the previous two years at Division I Presbyterian College as an intern athletic trainer.
Korte served as the athletic trainer for volleyball, women’s lacrosse and men’s and women’s tennis at Presbyterian. Prior to Presbyterian, she spent two years at Division I University of South Dakota, where she served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. She worked with the football, softball, volleyball, men’s and women’s swimming and diving and the men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams at South Dakota.
For the past five summers, Korte has worked at the University of Tennessee with the men’s basketball, volleyball and softball summer camps.
While an undergraduate, Korte served as a student athletic trainer at Lincoln Memorial University and worked with the baseball, softball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s golf and men’s and women’s tennis programs. She also covered local high school football.
Korte graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a minor in kinesiology in 2008 from Lincoln Memorial University. She earned a Master of Arts degree in health, physical education and recreation with a concentration in exercise physiology and athletic administration in 2010 from the University of South Dakota.
She is a state certified athletic trainer in South Carolina and is a NATABOC certified athletic trainer as well.
