A company new to Alabaster is working to hire for several positions before it opens for business in the coming weeks.

The Alabama Crown Distribution Company, which is scheduled to open in August, will hold a job fair on Monday, July 23 at its new $16 million facility in Alabaster’s Shelby West Corporate Park.

The facility is at 1330 Corporate Woods Drive, which is slightly north of the Shelby County Airport off exit 234 of Interstate 65.

During the job fair, which will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., the company will be looking to hire warehouse associates, forklift operators, general laborers and drivers. The job fair will be held in conjunction with the Lyons Human Resources company. All jobs will require a clean drug test, verifiable work history and a background check, according to a company statement.

Alabama Crown, which will be moving some of its jobs from Birmingham to the Alabaster location, is the Alabama branch of the Georgia Crown Distribution Company, which wholesale distributes liquor, wine, beer and other beverages, such as spring water and juices.

Alabaster Mayor David Frings said Alabama Crown will bring more than 70 jobs to the city.
