Vincent 8-and-under All-Stars coach Yancy Davis and his team will join the Vincent 14-and-under All-Stars in the Dizzy Dean World Series, which begins July 20 in Southaven, Miss.

The 8-and-under All-Stars earned a trip to the World Series after finishing fifth recently in the state tournament in Cullman.

Davis said the 8-and-under team includes a few players who have never played in an all-star competition previously.

“It’s been a thrill,” Davis said.

Davis, who also helped coach the 14-and-under All-Star team, said the community is buzzing with two teams heading to the Dizzy Dean World Series.

“It’s just been a blessing,” Davis said. “You don’t hardly see that.”

The Vincent 8-and-under team includes team members Paul Albright, Alston Blackburn, Hunter Burnette, Will Carden, Eyan Davis, Cole Gowers, Ashton Hodge, JaVonte’ Melton, Eli Whitfield, K.J. Youngblood and K.T. Youngblood. The team is coached by Yancey Davis, Jeremy Isbell, Lee Carden and Chris Albright.
