Smith announces re-election bid for Hoover Council

HOOVER — Hoover City Council member Gene Smith recently announced his bid for re-election to the Place 2 seat on the council.
Smith, a Hoover resident for more than 40 years, has served two terms on the Hoover City Council.
Smith previously worked for the Hoover Fire Department, retiring as a captain.
“It is an honor to serve our city and I am grateful to the people of Hoover for giving me this opportunity,” Smith said in a press release. “Much has been accomplished during the past eight years, but we can never be complacent. I pledge to continue giving dedicated and unwavering service to Hoover.”
Smith’s priorities as a council member include fiscal responsibility, education, recreation and law enforcement.
