Less than one week after Pelham High School head baseball coach Jeff Mauldin announced his departure, the Panthers have promoted longtime Mauldin assistant Sean Anderson as its new head baseball coach.
Anderson said that he is pleased to have been named head coach but his main goal is to keep his team headed in the right direction.
“My concern now is keeping things moving forward,” he said.
Under Mauldin, the Panthers went 36-5 last season and advanced to the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A quarterfinals. Anderson said that although the expectations are high, he wants his team to remain focused.
“I don’t know if we’re going to do anything different,” he said. “I just want us to remain focused on improving each and every day.”
