The University of Montevallo men’s and women’s cross country teams will host the second annual Early Bird Classic on Saturday, Sept. 1.

The race is open to middle school and high school teams. There will be six different races including middle school girls (3K), middle school boys (3K), high school girls (4A-6A) (5K), high school boys (4A-6A) (5K), high school girls (1A-3A) (5K) and high school boys (1A-3A) (5K).

The entry fees are $45 for middle school teams and $50 for high school teams. The top three finishers in each race will receive an award as well as the top-two teams in each race. The top-15 in each race will receive a dri-fit t-shirt as well.

The races will take place on UM’s home cross country course located on the Montevallo campus. The schedule begins at 8 a.m. with the middle school girls race. The middle school boys follow at 8:40 a.m. while the 4A-6A girls start at 9:20 a.m. The 4A-6A boys follow at 10:00 a.m. The 1A-3A girls are at 10:40 a.m. and the 1A-3A boys end the event at 11:10 a.m.
