Spain Park places fourth in state tournament

The Spain Park High School girls’ golf team finished fourth in team standings in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A state tournament May 15 after collectively carding a 92-over par 524 in the two-day tournament at the Robert Trent Jones’ Grand National course in Auburn.
Morgan Natale of Spain Park led the Jaguars with a 11-over par 155, which placed her in a two-way tie for fourth overall in individual standings. Natale finished eight strokes behind Class 6A individual champion Janie Jackson of Huntsville.
Caroline Gurley of Spain Park carded a 29-over par 173, which placed her in a two-way tie for 14th overall. Jenna Pickering of Spain Park posted a 52-over par 196, which placed her 23rd overall in individual standings.
Haven Eddy rounded out the group of Spain Park golfers with her 64-over par 208 and finished 27th overall in individual standings.
Grayson Gladden of Pelham, who qualified for the Class 6A state tournament as an individual, carded a two-day total of 35-over par 179, which placed her in a two-way tie for 18th overall in individual standings.
