A Clanton woman was killed in a single vehicle car accident May 7.

Connie Woods, 53, was driving a 2005 Mercury on Interstate 65 in Calera when she was fatally injured in a wreck, according to a press release from the Alabama Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Division.

The accident occurred at 12:55 p.m., and Woods was transported to Shelby Baptist Medical Center. No one else was injured. The accident is still under investigation, according to the release.
