The Pelham High School softball team defeated Hewitt-Trussville 3-1 in high school softball action April 30.

Whitney Gillespie led the Panthers offensively as she finished 3-for-3 at the plate. Gillespie also drove in one run in the victory.

Emily Spain went 2-for-2 at the plate and scored one run. Mary Morgan Dramer finished 2-for-4 at the plate.

Caitlyn Sapp, who drove in two runs and scored one run, finished 1-for-3 at the plate. Kristian Foster went 1-for-3 at the plate and scored one run. Madi Walker went 1-for-2 at the plate. Alicia Richardson finished 1-for-3 at the plate.

Spain earned the win in the circle after giving up just one earned run on five hits with one walk in four innings.

Gillespie finished with two strikeouts and issued one walk without giving up a hit or a run in three innings as she picked up a save.
