Hornets edge Spain Park

The Chelsea High School softball team defeated Spain Park 4-3 in high school softball action April 30.
Caitlin Bice led the Hornets offensively as she finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Bice also drove in one run in the victory.
Maygen Boaz, who finished 1-for-3 at the plate, drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Boaz also had a stolen base.
Amanda Mock went 1-for-2 at the plate. Alex Osborn and Erin Jones each finished 1-for-3 at the plate.
Kacie Craft, who earned the win in the circle, finished with four strikeouts.
Madi Gipson and Mary Kathryn Bonamy led Spain Park offensively with three hits each.
Gipson finished 3-for-4 at the plate. Bonamy went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and drove in one run.
Casey Craig went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in one run. Amanda Ballew finished 1-for-1 at the plate and drove in one run. DeKayla Sankey went 1-for-3 at the plate. April Scott finished 1-for-4 at the plate. Erin Hornsby finished with one stolen base.
Haleigh Sisson, who took the loss in the circle, finished with three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.
Julie Knight finished with three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.
