Seven teams headed to baseball playoffs

Seven high school baseball teams have qualified for Alabama High School Athletic Association postseason play.
Spain Park, Pelham, Briarwood Christian, Chelsea, Calera, Montevallo and Vincent each qualified for the postseason.
The first round takes place April 20-21, with a doubleheader on Friday and the if-necessary third game on Saturday.
Pelham High School, the Class 6A, Area 10 champion, will host Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa in a three-game series. The April 20 doubleheader opener is set for 4:30 p.m., with the nightcap scheduled for 7 p.m. The if-necessary game is scheduled for April 21 at 1 p.m.
Spain Park High School, the Class 6A, Area 12 champion, will host Minor in a three-game series. The April 20 doubleheader opener is set for 4:30 p.m., with the nightcap scheduled for 7 p.m. The if-necessary game is scheduled for April 21 at 11 a.m.
Briarwood Christian, the Class 5A, Area 7 champion, will host McAdory in a three-game series. The April 20 doubleheader opener is set for 5 p.m., with the nightcap scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The if-necessary game is scheduled for April 21 at 3 p.m.
Chelsea, the Class 5A, Area 7 runner-up, will travel to Hueytown in a three-game series. The April 20 doubleheader opener is set for 4 p.m., with the nightcap scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The if-necessary game is scheduled for April 21 at 11 a.m.
Calera, the Class 4A, Area 8 runner-up, will travel to West Blocton in a three-game series. The April 20 doubleheader opener is set for 1 p.m., with the nightcap scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The if-necessary game is scheduled for April 21 at noon.
Montevallo, the Class 3A, Area 7 champion, will host B.B. Comer in a three-game series. The April 20 doubleheader opener is set for 4:30 p.m., with the nightcap scheduled for 7 p.m. The if-necessary game is scheduled for April 21 at 11 a.m.
Vincent, the Class 2A, Area 10 champion, will host Woodland in a three-game series. The April 20 doubleheader opener is set for 4:30 p.m., with the nightcap scheduled for 7 p.m. The if-necessary game is scheduled for April 21 at 1 p.m.
