The Pelham High School baseball team dropped its first game against an in-state opponent this season in a 3-0 loss to Hoover in its final Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 10 regular season contest April 12.

Despite the loss, the Panthers clinched the area championship due to a tiebreaker.

Hunter Stovall and Sam Finnerty led Pelham offensively after each finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Thomas Lowery was tagged with the loss on the mound after giving up three runs, including one earned run, on six hits with eight strikeouts and four walks in five innings.

Parker Curry allowed one hit in one inning in relief.
